FORTY YEARS

May the fifth in 1970 is a day we call a turning point, a milestone, another chance for humanity – the opening of the Sahasrara.
Forty years is a long time for one person. In the big picture, it is nothing. But yet, in those four decades we have travelled a road together, many of us joining along the way like tributaries enlarging a growing river. It has been a journey signposted by the words of our Mother, innumerate with pujas and travels and events, enlarged at every turn by a growing sense of who we are and where we fit in woof and weft of a global family.
We are each a thread in a fabric forty years in the making.
The Divine Cool Breeze is set to honour this auspicious anniversary with an issue dedicated – page-by-page, one year at a time – to the forty years of Sahaja Yoga. Each page will be designed words from or about that year. Each year will be decorated with photos, pujas, events, landmarks in our growth.
For The Divine Cool Breeze, 2010 be a year diversity, each magazine different from the next, each issue unique. The forty years issue will be just one.
Subscribing is the best way to get The Divine Cool Breeze. Six issues delivered anywhere in the world for the uniform price of $33.

Renew Your Subscription
We are now shipping our last issue of the year and are preparing the 2010 editions.
But, with the publication of the current issue (volume 22 number 6), all subscriptions expire. That's right, from a circulation of about 1300, we drop down to zero.
Buying a subscription is easy at the online store (www.divinecoolbreeze/shop). You can buy the 2010 six-magazine-subscription for yourself or as a gift for anybody living anywhere in the world. The same price applies to all.
One of the changes this year will be the inclusion of a special issue in the subscription package. One of the six magazines you will receive will be a bumper-sized issue with a special theme. These special magazines are always popular and if you subscribe you will be guaranteed to get one before they sell out.

The Photograph: It is Quite Me

The Divine Cool Breeze is two things: words and pictures – the words and pictures of Shri Mataji.
We know the power of Her words. They enter our being and become a part of us. We imbibe them.
Shri Mataji has also told us about photographs. Photos have vibrations: there are beautiful photos, there are curative photos, there are miracle photos, but how do they work?
"A photograph has got so many elements," She told us once, way back in 1980. "It has got the light element. It has got the water element. It has got the earth element. It has got also the air element. If the air is not all right, you cannot get a photograph."
A photograph is made up of the five elements, no doubt, but it is the ether that does the trick. Ether allows a photograph to "transcend to any other place."
She explains: "You cannot transmit a statue, as it is, anywhere. Only the photo of a statue you can. So a photograph is much more powerful than any statue. Moreover, it is a reproduction, no doubt, but a reproduction of reality with five elements. So I shouldn’t call it just a representation. It is quite Me because My attention is there."
That is why the photograph is such an important component of The Divine Cool Breeze. It transcends. It goes beyond the page.
In 2010 you will be seeing many new photographs in The Divine Cool Breeze – seldom seen, shared from private collections, never before printed. These photographs are special – casual, intimate, Shri Mataji dining, travelling, shopping, with children, seekers and yogis, Shri Mataji at havans and pujas and kitchens and public halls.
Hang on. You will be in for a real treat.
